Suppose that time really passes: indeed, suppose presentism, on which only the fleeting present is real.
One radical answer is presentism, the view that only present objects, events and states exist: past and future do not exist.
Thus, it is generally thought that one is free to accept an argument for actualism, say, but to reject a parallel argument for presentism.
But donning the robes of the moralist presents problems of its own, notably the problem of Presentism, that is judging historical figures by contemporary moral standards.
